Let’s talk about breathwork

I always say that any amount of conscious breath (as long as you listen to the body first) is beneficial. So let’s get into the different breathwork sessions out there.

There are two different styles of breathwork- a quick reset and a deep meditative experience.

You will see me throw in these quick reset or grounding breath sessions in some of the healing circles I facilitate, these are anywhere from 5-15 minute experiences. This is a good chance to chill the nervous system, clear out some excess energy, ground or centre the body, while remaining in a conscious waking state.

My favourite breath to facilitate is a longer, meditative session. This is where we use conscious breath for a longer length of time. Anywhere from 20-40 mins of a conscious continual pattern. Here there is no counting, there is no thinking, there is just breathing.

Something really cool happens about 7 or 8 minutes into conscious focused breath, our bodies take over and our systems begin to slip into a slightly altered state. This is where we open up the gates to deeper healing. This is where deep emotional alchemy happens, this is where messages land crystal clear, this is where the system actually rests, this is where you eliminate the barrier between you and the greater intelligence.

When you work with me 1:1, you receive deep intentional healing. We listen to your body's needs, we trust the process to unfold, every session is different because of this trust in knowing you already know exactly what you need. I pair breathwork with my extended experience with reiki healing to create a powerful energetic transformation.

“Portals” don’t mean shit unless you want them to mean shit 🤪

There is ALWAYS something going on in the astrological or numerological weather. If you look for it, you will find it. Some are just a little more “trendy” and “fun” than others.

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE a good little number synergy but the 9th day of the 9th month is not a portal. Unless you want it to be, then sure, make meaning.

Us humans like to make meaning about anything we can get our grimy little minds on. How creative, you little brain waves you.

9 is the number of the divine feminine. It’s also about nuance, reading between the lines, completion and subtleties. So yesterday could have maybe presented some of these things to you, maybe in challenges, maybe in ah-has. We can also look at the number 10 from today, which represents the divine masculine, leadership and radiance. Does that make today a divine fem + masc portal?!

I’ll leave that one up to you ;)

Relief working at my friends beauitful Novia Scotia campground, while still working on my own biz AND still feeling like I’m on vacay. This is the life for meeee 😍

It’s been awesome getting to see all the campers again that I got to know two years ago and to be welcomed back with smiles and open arms. This place is another one of those places I am lucky to say always feels like home.

I’m Dawn! Your local farm girl turned spiritual mentor. I have a lot of fun mixing these two worlds of mine together. My many animals keep me grounded and joyful daily. They are also the reason I am so dedicated to what I do. Having many animals growing up taught me about hard work and devotion.

My love for farming and animal has transferred over to a devotion to helping humans over the last few years. I have slowly been building a tool kit full of energetic and somatic practices that help to support the human experience. I love helping people discover deeper insights about themselves, cheering them on to discover their unique path in life and creating magical moments that make our human minds go “WOW!”.

I also love, love. It’s definitely one of my favour things about being human. To love deeply and completely and when I get the chance to help someone fall in love with themselves, well that’s about it for me. Life goals achieved! ✔️ There isn’t much better than that!

The dream

Earlier this week I attended a day retreat for women in business with @freshideacollective . It was such a great day of connection, growth and dreaming!

At one point in the day, we separated into discussion groups. Our dreamer’s group got to share our dreams for our business. It was a really powerful round-table experience! Hearing each other’s dreams and feeling the support and cheer squad in this group of women you had just met, was something else.

My dream for my biz is to grow it to a point where I can feel fully supported and secure with the income it creates.

It’s on its way there! I am having so much fun with this wee biz of mine. I mean there are hard days too but overall, it’s a blast. And part of my big dream is to not let the fun fade in what I do.

If you have a dream, please chase it. I promise you there are more people out there ready to cheer you on than there are not. And if you can’t find those people, you have one in me- let me be your cheerleader!

I’ve been down playing my new membership and what the breathwork session I offer actually are.

It’s time to own up to some of my wooy-ness.

I don’t offer a regular straightforward breathwork session.

I have been intentionally curating my craft for that last 6 years and what I offer pulls together so much more than the power of breath. There is very intentional energetic exchange, there are shamanic healing pieces, there is emotional alchemy, there are transmissions, all weaved into one magical session. These sessions aren’t just a wellness practices, they are a spiritual practise.

I offer experiences that allow you to access your soul, to open your heart, to discover your deepest knowings, to find clarity in your purpose. Yes breathwork and energy work are good for the nervous system, but that’s not what these sessions are about, that part is a bonus.

These sessions, these experiences; are about connecting you to something bigger. Something only found within you. When the busyness of the mind can be quieted and your soul has space to speak.

This is the space where you get to discovery you. In sacred and special ways.

I was sitting in the middle of a field somewhere in Bruce County, soil probe in hand, mind rushing with thoughts of “what else can u do with this life that isn’t this.”

I had lost interest and the joy for a job that was once so life giving for so long.

I had a thought, pulled out my phone and googled “astrology schools.” Instant overwhelm. Nothing looks relatable or close to the kinda training I was looking for, I didn’t even really know what I was looking for.”

With a sigh, I tucked my phone away and continued to zip across the field, making my way back to the truck.

It was years later that I came across Numerology and ultimately my Priestess Path, after diving head first back into my Reiki practice.

It was 2019, I had just quit my dairy job that had supported me for the last decade or so. While still holding on to some morning milkings, I transitioned into making my part time soil sampling job, a full time office position and started navigating what was next for me. I felt so lost.

That year my relationship also crumbled and ended. I had just quit the career I had loved so much for so long to pursue… what?!

I was stuck in the in between, leaning on an old familiar job as a ‘get me by space filler’. I hated that my passion for my career in ag had diminished so much. I didn’t know what was next, all I knew was that this wasn’t it anymore. It was time for a break. And break I did. All the pieces fell to the ground, not in the way that was rock bottom but in the way that nothing made sense anymore.

And in that breaking, as I began to price myself back together with Reiki, I discovered a passion long lingering in my world. A passion for spirituality and energetic practices. It didn’t take very long to realize that this was my next thing. And wouldn’t you know, choosing this path led me to that astrology teaching that lost girl in the middle of a field was curious about pursuing, plus the discovery of so much more. << Cont in comments >>

What seems hideous has its own beauty, and the recycling and repurposing the vulture does is as important as any other activity in nature that supports the cycle of life. Vulture Spirit's message is that nothing is to be wasted, for Nature sees value in everything that exists. What seems rotten and ugly has the potential to be transmuted into something beneficial, and you are reminded that any suffering you have experienced has not gone to waste. Wisdom and understanding that arose from the experience are talismans that will serve you on your journey wherever you go. What is decaying is only changing form and will fertilize seeds you wish to plant, turning that which has passed away into the substance that will support new growth. All that you might wish to deny or discard has value and can be repurposed and reintegrated into the new you that you are becoming and the new life that you are dreaming into being.
No pain was in vain and no experience was wasted, for you have the power to use it to co-create something far better. This is the miracle in your partnership with Spirit.
